Playing in the Park!

Jack and Kayla had a playdate while Katie and Sarah got to hang out for a talk. We went to the park and had a picnic. Then Katie and Sarah chased around the kids while they played!

Lunch with Friends!

Amy and Lindsey are wonderful high school friends. We decided to get together for lunch. Our husbands and children came too! The kids sat in the highchairs and laughed at each other while they were eating. We tried to get a picture at the end, but you can see, Kayla was too busy to have a picture interfere with her life! I was the only non-expecting mom. Pretty soon, both Amy and Lindsey will have two kids to chase after!

Theta Reunion

How the time goes by, but yet it was so familiar! Back to the good old days! Can you beleive it?.. it has been five years since college. The theta girls got together for a girls night on Friday and watched the Royals game on Saturday. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone. How I wish we didn't live so far away!

Dancing Kayla!

We bought the dvd collections of "Your Baby can Read", Kayla really likes to dance along with the songs. Here are two videos of her. Whenever we sing "I'm a Little Tea Pot" she tilts her head!

Dinner with Nana and Papa

Nana and Papa rode their bike up to Des Moines on Saturday. We went to meet them for dinner at Texas Roadhouse! Kayla enjoyed seeing Nana and Papa and showed them her "little tea pot" head tilt. Nana and Papa found this hilarious. Kayla also enjoyed the company of just about everyone else in the restaurant as she kept telling everyone "HI!!" Kayla got her own sirloin steak, but instead decided to eat Mommy and Daddy's plate of ribs.

First Swim!

The swimming pool opened this weekend, so naturally, we had to take advantage of the nice weather to cool off with the pool. Putting on Kayla's swim diaper, her suit and sun screen lotion took a good thirty minutes. Then we blew up Kayla's baby float. Kayla went into the car with sun screen still smeared on her face because she refused to let us rub it into her skin. As we went into the pool, Kayla was very hesitant of the water. She took baby steps into the water and then a giant leap outside of the water with a cry. Mommy and daddy grabed her hand and she eased into the pool. She eventually loved the water with help of her float! Mommy and Kayla relaxed in the shallow end of the pool while we watched daddy go off the slides!

Fun with Friends!

What a fabulous night with the girls! The night started by going out to dinner at Bravo with Nicole, Shawna, and Lynn! We sat on the patio and saw the view of the lake. The requirement for our girls night was to wear dresses and high heals! Of course, we were going for the "Sex and the City" look. After dinner, we saw the "Sex and the City Two" Movie! Girlfriends are the best!

Biker Girl!

Our daycare provider said she wanted to take Kayla out for a bike ride in her toddler carrier. We went straight to the bike store and got her a helmet! Watch out world, here is Kayla!

Happy Mother's Day!

I enjoyed my second Mother's day with Kayla! We decided to visit family to wish them a happy mother's day too. Saturday morning, we went out to breakfast with great grandpa and Bobbie, Grammie, and Aunt Judy. Kayla was more interested in walking around the restaurant than eating her breakfast! During the day, I was able to play with G-G at her house, then we went to Nana and Papa's for dinner! Kayla ate a lot of cheesy-potatoes! We celebrated mother's day on Sunday first at Grammies then we went to Nana's and Papa's!
