Kayla Sits Like a Big Girl!

Kayla is getting so big. Today she sat in her favorite big girl rocking chair all by herself. She likes sitting in her chairs and looking around the room at pictures, the T.V., and watching Mommy and Daddy. She also really likes looking at her doggy and kitty slippers.

Michael and Kayla play together!

Our good friends, Angie and Dave, came over with their son Michael. Michael played with Kayla and he even got her to smile at him! It is so much fun to see the development of older babies! Kayla will be able to do the things Michael can in five more months! They played in the play gym and sat together! Michael is a big boy and sat all by himself, but Kayla needed the help of her chair to sit! Enjoy these cute pictures!

Kayla's First Road Trip!

Wow! Our family had a very fun and busy weekend. We went down to Kansas City to see our family for the Valentine weekend. On Friday, Kayla visited G-G Houlder, and Great Grannie. Then we went to visit Grandma Carol at work so we can weigh Kayla. She weighed 8 lbs, 9 oz! Way to grow Kayla! There is a picture to prove how much she has grown! Then we spent time with both the Bloch and Curry grandparents on Friday. On Saturday, the Bloch side of the family came to visit Kayla at Grandma Carol's house. During the night time, Grandma and Grandpa Curry babysat Kayla while Jeff and Sarah went out to dinner. On Sunday, Kayla got a chance to see both families as well as a lot of friends. Jack, Lindsey and Jackson (soon to be born) got a chance to meet Kayla. Brad came to visit to and held Kayla even when she was cranky! During the evening, Amy and Job came by with their son Jude. Jude is 6 and a half months. He is crawling and was able to show Kayla the ropes. Sarah and Jeff were able to hold Jude. It is a lot different holding a 19 pound baby compared to our little Kayla! There are pictures with them together too! It looks like Kayla will have another playmate whenever we visit Amy and Job! Kayla's cousin Christy was unfortunately sick with a bad cold. Kayla wasn't able to meet her cousin this time, but she will in March! Here is a link to all of the pictures from the weekend!

My First Boyfriend!

I was so excited to see Jack Bunce this weekend! It was the first time my mommy, daddy and I got to see him! He is very close to my age. However, I am five days older than him! It was the first time I had a playmate! I think he really understands me! When I cried, so did he. I liked him so much, I even gave him a kiss on the head! At the age of one month, I already have had my first boyfriend. My mommy doesn't mind if I have boyfriends now,but she will mind when I become a teenager!

Nicole Visits Kayla!

Hey guys, it is me Kayla! My mom is able to understand my baby talk, so she is writing my blog for me! A good friend stopped by to see me. She held me all afternoon! I love to be held! In fact, I would rather being held than anything thing else. Once I can no longer feel the warmth of another body, I get very fussy! My mommy and daddy tell me I need to learn to go to sleep without being cuddled, but that isn't happening very well! Here is a picture of Nicole holding me!

Kayla's First Walk Outside!

I can't believe Kayla is one month old! My little girl is growing up so fast! Today was a beautiful day! It was in the 60's in the beginning of February! We decided to take her on a walk outside in her stroller. When I put her in her car seat, she was screaming because she was so tired. All I had to do was walk a few steps with her in the stroller and she fell right to sleep! She was asleep the whole walk. Now I know some tricks....walk her around the block in the stroller or go on a car ride! Both make her fall right to sleep.

Kayla Visits the Cheerleaders!

Kayla and I went to visit the cheerleaders I coached last year during practice. It was great to see everyone! As soon as I walked through the door with her car seat, girls ran over to me with joy! Of course they ran over to see Kayla...and not necessarily to me! All the cheerleaders wanted to hold her. There were many cheerleaders who said they will gladly babysit! Kayla enjoyed going to cheerleading practice because she may be a cheerleader one day too!

Sleeping Through the Night?

I decided to let Kayla wake me up to feed her during the night instead of setting my alarm clock. She usually eats every three to four hours. Last night I fed her at 3:00a.m. and I expected to feed her again around 6:00 a.m. To my surprise I woke up at 9:00 feeling really refreshed. She was still asleep! I had to wake her up because she hasn't eaten for six hours! I wonder if that was a fluke or if she is starting to sleep through the night! I would love to have six hours of uninterrupted sleep again! Ah... it was heaven!

On the same subject of sleep. I decided to take a nap on the couch while Kayla was also sleeping. Jeff noticed that we were both in the same sleeping position. He was able to catch some pictures of us sleeping! Like mother...like daughter!

Kayla's First Restaurant Experience!

We took Kayla out to a steak restaurant. I made sure to feed her right before we left for dinner, so she would not be hungry when her mommy and daddy were eating. We put Kayla in her car seat and she was asleep the whole time! She was an angel. She let her mommy and daddy eat without making a single noise. Here are some pictures of her at the restaurant.
