Star of the food show!

Jeff worked at a food show in Omaha, Nebraska. Mommy and Kayla went from vendor to vendor getting free samples! Kayla stole the attention of many people! They all said she is so cute! We hear this often but it never gets old!

Toddlerhood is calling!

Kayla is walking a couple steps on her own. I tried to video tape this. I could not get a great video of her walking, but this is close enough! We try to have her walk everyday with us! She starts to cry at the end..perhaps because it was her bedtime!

This is what Kayla does before she goes to sleep. I also find her like this in the moring when she wakes. Very cute!

Crying over spilt milk

This blog is dedicated to Grammy because she is always wanting me to drink from a sippy cup. Mommy and daddy constantly give me a sippy cup, I drink from it for a couple seconds to amuse them, then I toss my cup on the floor. Oh, I forgot to mention, I usually shake the cup several times which pours the milk out and tends to splatter on mommy and daddy's face...then I throw the cup as HARD as a can on the floor. Grammy this picture goes to you because you were laughing on the phone when I was doing this! :) Oh, the joys of toddlerhood!

Visiting friends!

This past weekend, we went to Lincoln, Nebraska to visit Sarah's freshman roommate in college. Kalya loved playing with her new friend Sydney! They both played in her toy house. It is perfect for Kayla because she is always opening and closing doors. Kayla might come home to a brand new gift one day. Thanks Katie and Travis! We had a great time!

Curly Kayla

Kayla's hair is starting to grow! Thank goodness! We gave her a bath yesterday and her hair is so curly! Only time will tell what her hair will be like when it grows longer. I can't wait to put her hair up like Pebbles!

Crash and Burn!

Well Kayla is starting to walk between furniture. I need to get this on tape because it is really funny. She is holding on to one piece of furniture and leans her whole body to the other piece. By this point,she is practically horizontal. She attempts to take a few steps to the desired furniture. Although I am excited for Kayla's journey of walking, it also has its disadvantages. For instance, the picture shows Kayla with a black eye. She was trying to walk to the coffee table and crashed! She hit the only hard part of the table. In fact, we went to target when Kayla was becoming more mobile and bought a really soft coffee table that we mimicked from Aunt Judy. We use to have a glass coffee table. I am sure glad the glass table is now in storage!

Her 12 month weight verdict!

Kayla weighed 19 pounds and 1 ounce. Congratulations to a third of the voters! Kayla is turning more and more into a toddler everyday! Her attutide is like one! I know, I know...I have not seen anything yet! We are trying to have her drink out of a sippy cup and she throws them on the ground once I give it to her. Then I pick it up, put it on her high chair and she throws it on the ground again! Oh well. I think she is starting to become a true toddler!

Happy First Birthday to my friend Jack!

My friend Jack turned one today. Mommy used to work with his mom. Jack and I get together sometimes for play dates. Today, we joined them for pizza and birthday fun! Mommy didn't have her camera with her but here is an older picture of the two of us. I am so lucky to have a friend just five days apart from me!

Happy First Birthday Kayla!

Our little girl turns one today! In fact, exactly one as I write this. Kayla was born at 10:23 a.m. on January 5, 2009. One year today! At birth she weighed 6 pounds, one oz. She was also 19 inches. Today, we went to the doctor's office and she is 29 inches tall. Weight? Well, you need to vote her weight on the side of this blog! I will let you vote for a week, then I will let you know!
